How to Prepare

Private Reading

Ruth will spend 5 to 10 minutes just before your appointment to visit you. Remember not to taint your reading; you can talk about anything other than what you will ask about during the reading. This short visit does two things: (1) relax you to assist Ruth in connecting to your energy (2)  Ask clear questions.

Group Reading

Ruth will do a short introduction about herself.  Then go around the room in a round-robin format to have everyone ask her a “Yes” / “NO” question, these is how she connects to everyone’s energy.  Make sure you are asking clear questions.

Whether you are a psychic reading newbie or a reading regular, it’s wise to keep a few basic psychic reading guidelines for preparing for your session with Ruth. Here are a few suggested “Dos” and “Don’ts”.

DO

  • Clear your mind. Ten minutes before the reading, calm yourself, take some deep breaths and imagine only positive energy around you.
  • Get specific. Ahead of time, prepare a list of questions or the general areas you’d like to discuss to ensure you don’t get sidetracked and miss asking something you really require to know.
  • Choose a time for your reading wisely. Avoid scheduling a reading when you are pressed for time and will be rushing/stressed just prior to your appointment.  If you are hungry and can’t concentrate, are in a place where you cannot speak freely, or are in a place where it is too noisy to concentrate or hear Ruth easily, then you will have to reschedule your appointment.
  • Be on time. Ruth values and respects your time. Please value and respect hers. Sessions will start and end on time.
  • Be open-minded. Spirit tends to deliver information that you require to know versus what you want to know. Remember, Ruth’s purpose is to give a voice to the spirits and translate their messages the best she can. She is not in control of what messages you receive.
  • Connect to your loved ones prior to the reading. If you want to connect to loved ones who have passed, spend a few quiet minutes prior to your session to talk to them and invite them to the reading. Don’t forget to ask them the questions you want to be answered and thank them for their support.
  • Ask open-ended questions. If you ask yes/no questions, you’ll get yes/no answers. For more depth answers and understanding, ask why, how, when, etc.
  • In Group Readings, take turns and listen to others’ questions. If you are in a group reading, be sure to allow others a turn to ask questions. Listen to their questions because it may be a question you didn’t think to ask but now you really want to ask. Take notes!
  • Participate in the reading. While Ruth may do most of the talking, be sure to respond if she’s on the right track. Speak up if she didn’t understand exactly what you meant with your question, etc.
  • For phone or WebEx sessions, have a good connection. The last thing you want is that Ruth can’t hear you well or there is interference during communication.
  • Enjoy it! A good psychic reading is powerful whether connecting to loved ones or focusing on your life path. At the end of your reading, you will feel like you’ve just had a conversation with an old friend.
  • Remember, Your Reading is Recorded.  Ruth records all of her readings; you will receive a Google Link to your reading, usually around the 15th of each month.

DON’T

  • Don’t be nervous. Your reading is intended to be a helpful and healing experience. If you come into the reading a bundle of nerves, tell Ruth and take a few moments to take some deep breaths and relax.
  • Don’t “feed” me any information. Just ask Ruth your questions, and she will ask you questions to confirm the message’s validity. There’s no need to give her extra information about your situation or loved one; it takes up valuable session time.
  • Don’t force-fit the message. If something doesn’t make sense, just let Ruth know. It may need more clarification, or it may be something for you to know for later use.
  • Don’t expect Ruth to make decisions for you. Use the information and messages from your reading and your instincts and intuition to be applied to your life situation.
  • Don’t play “Let’s Make a Deal.” Resist the urge to ask spirit to communicate a specific message to Ruth to prove they are coming through. She will share everything that comes through from them, and if you are listening for one specific thing, you may miss something really important they have for you.
  • Don’t mix your “spirits.” Be clear-headed and in an unaltered state of mind.
  • Don’t worry about expressing emotions. Ruth will never judge you and what happens in the reading is confidential. Feel free to feel your feelings. You can ugly cry, and it’s totally ok.
  • Don’t participate with a negative or closed-off attitude. Leave the image of a psychic from the movies at home. I encourage skepticism, but cynicism and hostility are not beneficial. Sarcastically saying, “You’re the psychic; you tell me,” does nothing to help you receive the spiritual messages you need to hear. It only serves to waste valuable reading time. Through the connection I make with you, I am able to receive and share information from your angels and your loved ones.
  • Don’t make any rash decisions immediately after your reading. Instead, take some time to fully absorb the messages you received before moving in any new direction.
